Megan Ecker

Megan, an elementary school teacher and PE coach, always dreamed of having a little girl. During her pregnancy, she embraced every milestone with joy and anticipation. But her journey took a heartbreaking turn when she experienced a sudden placental abruption.

Megan’s life was in danger, and tragically, her daughter, Luna, did not survive.

In the difficult months that followed, Megan sought support through The Finley Project. She attended events, met with a counselor, and connected with other mothers who understood her grief. Through these resources, she began to heal—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

In November 2025, Megan was thrilled as she was pregnant with her rainbow baby. She shared: “This Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to share my gratitude for each of you. This past year has been one of the hardest seasons of my life, and yet, through all the pain, your presence has been a source of comfort, understanding, and strength. There is something profoundly healing about being supported by women who truly understand, mothers who have walked the same impossible path and carry the same kind of love and heartbreak that I carry for Luna. The compassion and connection within this group have helped me feel less alone in a world that often doesn’t know how to hold this kind of grief.

Thank you for the way you show up not just for me, but for every mother who finds herself in this unthinkable place. Thank you for your patience, your gentleness, your honesty, and the space you create for each of us to be exactly where we are. Thank you for honoring our children, for saying their names, and for making room for their memories to live on.

With love,

Luna’s Mom
