Oscar Internship Program
Inspiring the Next Generation of Nonprofit Leaders
The Oscar Internship offers high school students meaningful, hands-on experience supporting bereaved families through volunteer management, event planning, logistics, social media, and program development.
Program Requirements
Local student in their Junior/Senior year of High School
Minimum GPA of 3.5 with a total of 2 recommendations from Teachers/and or School Administrator
Has volunteered with The Finley Project at minimum of 1 event in the last two years
Commitment to 1 full year in Internship
Must have reliable transportation to events
Internship Opportunities
Each internship track is designed to help students discover their strengths
while learning what it takes to support a mission-driven nonprofit organization.

Volunteer Management Intern
Assist with recruiting volunteers for events, volunteer communication, maintaining Volunteer databases, welcoming and directing volunteers on event days, ordering volunteer food for events, and coordinating volunteer appreciation gifts.

Social Media Intern
Create Instagram and Facebook posts, design graphics using Canva, editing short videos and reels, attending events to post live stream videos, promoting fundraising and external events, support content creation, photography, stories, engagement, and event coverage to help share The Finley Project's mission with care and sensitivity.

Event Planning Intern
Assist with event preparation, décor set-up and breakdown, timeline support, assemble supplies and gift bags, supporting Events Coordinator on the day of a large event, and participate in planning meetings.

Logistics Intern
Help with event set-up, breakdown, inventory, transport, supply organization, and event flow support.

Development (Fundraising) Intern
Assist with donor appreciation, 'day of' event support, help prepare auction items, assist with creating Auction site, contact local businesses for donations, assist with auction set-up and check-out at Gala, quarterly newsletters, writing thank-you notes, and planning fundraising events.
